Benzodiazepines (Xanax, Valium, Klonopin, Ativan)
Cannot stop abruptly (seizure risk). Requires slow taper or may be continued during treatment. Work with medical team.
Opioids (Heroin, Fentanyl, Oxycodone, Morphine)
Usually continued until shortly before ibogaine to prevent early withdrawal. Timing coordinated by medical team.
Methadone, Suboxone (Buprenorphine)
Special protocols required. Extended half-life requires careful timing. Discuss with clinic.
Blood Pressure Medications
Usually continued but monitored closely. Some may require adjustment.
Parkinson's Medications (L-DOPA, Dopamine Agonists)
Usually continued but reviewed case-by-case. MAO inhibitors (Selegiline) must be stopped 2-3 weeks before.
⚡ Use Caution
Alcohol
Must complete medical detox before ibogaine due to seizure risk if dependent.
Cannabis/Marijuana
Should stop at least 3 days before. Not dangerous but may interfere with experience.
Kratom
Taper off at least 3-5 days before. Mild opioid activity.
St. John's Wort
Stop 2 weeks before - serotonergic activity.
5-HTP, L-Tryptophan
Stop 1 week before - serotonin precursors.
