About This Guide
Independent, evidence-based information to help you make informed decisions about ibogaine treatment.
Our Mission
Ibogaine Treatment Guide exists to provide comprehensive, evidence-based information on ibogaine therapy in a landscape often filled with hype, misinformation, and commercial bias.
We are not affiliated with any treatment provider, clinic, or commercial interest. Our goal is to give people accurate, unbiased information to make informed decisions about whether ibogaine treatment is right for them, and if so, how to proceed safely.
Why We Built This
After witnessing too many people make uninformed decisions—some choosing unsafe underground treatments, others missing out on legitimate help due to fear—we realized there was a gap in accessible, trustworthy information.
Most ibogaine information comes from:
- Clinics: Understandably biased toward promoting treatment
- Underground providers: Minimizing risks to attract clients
- Academic papers: Rigorous but inaccessible to most people
- Anecdotal reports: Valuable but lack medical context
We aim to bridge this gap: academically rigorous but readable, comprehensive but practical, balanced on both benefits and risks.
Our Editorial Standards
Evidence-Based
All medical and scientific claims are backed by peer-reviewed research, clinical data, or expert consensus. We cite sources and update content as new research emerges.
Balanced & Honest
We present both the potential benefits and the very real risks of ibogaine. We don't minimize cardiac dangers, and we don't overhype success rates. Honesty serves people better than hype.
Independent
We accept no advertising from treatment providers. We don't receive referral fees or commissions. Provider comparisons are based on objective safety criteria, not payments.
Accessible
We translate complex pharmacology and medical protocols into plain language without dumbing down the content. Our goal is informed consent, not just awareness.
What We're Not
- Not medical advice: This site provides education, not diagnosis or treatment recommendations. Always consult qualified healthcare providers.
- Not a booking service: We don't sell treatment packages or refer you to specific clinics for a fee.
- Not anti-establishment: We support both traditional addiction treatment AND alternative approaches where evidence supports them.
- Not a replacement for professional care: Ibogaine is serious medicine. DIY or underground treatments are dangerous.
Sources & Research
Our content draws from:
- Peer-reviewed studies from journals like Journal of Psychopharmacology, JAMA Psychiatry, Addiction
- Clinical data from established providers (GITA, MAPS, New Zealand clinics)
- Safety guidelines from medical organizations
- Patient outcome data from longitudinal studies
- Pharmacological research on ibogaine's mechanisms
We update content regularly as new research is published.
Editorial Independence
This guide was created by individuals with firsthand experience in the ibogaine treatment landscape who recognized the need for an independent educational resource.
This site is not a marketing tool for any clinic or provider. When we list providers on our clinics page, we evaluate them using the same objective criteria (medical screening, safety protocols, transparency). We recommend no specific provider -- we give you criteria to make your own informed choice.
Medical Advisory Board
All clinical content on this site is reviewed by our Medical Advisory Board — a panel of board-certified physicians and researchers with expertise in addiction medicine, psychiatry, cardiology, clinical pharmacology, and neuroscience.
Board members review content for medical accuracy, verify dosage and safety information against current clinical guidelines, and ensure all claims are supported by peer-reviewed evidence. They receive no financial compensation and have no conflicts of interest with treatment providers.
